The Ottawa Senators are alive. Colin Greening’s goal at the 7:39 mark of the second overtime Sunday gave the Senators a 2-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins, much to the delight of the raucous sellout crowd at Scotiabank Place.
With the Senators returning home down two games to none in their best-of-seven series versus the Penguins, the organization is going need whatever lift it can get from its fans and the return of its No. 1 center to the lineup.
After leading his injury-riddled club to a surprise appearance in the Stanley Cup playoffs, Ottawa Senators coach Paul MacLean is once again a finalist for the Jack Adams Award as the NHL’s coach of the year.
