The Ottawa Senators were on the golf course on Thursday, trying to shoot low. It’s a decent metaphor for the coming NHL season in Ottawa, where a lot of things could be lower: lower payroll, lower expectations, lower average age, with less experience on the roster than the club has had for more than a decade.
