Too many goals against, too many losses, too many players to blame. The Ottawa Senators’ 2013-14 season was marked by inconsistency, an inability to close out games and a poor home record. Accordingly, the individual report cards are generally far from impressive. Keep in mind that the expectations differ. A high-priced forward playing on the top two lines is asked to deliver points consistently, but a fourth-line player often has a specific role that doesn’t necessarily involve scoring goals.
