Another late season arrival for the Ottawa Senators is Matt Kassian. He comes to Ottawa via a trade with the Minnesota Wild and was selected in round 2, 57th overall by the Wild in thee 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

The twenty six year old, who spent his junior career with the Vancouver Giants, scored his first NHL goal while still with the Minnesota Wild in a game against the Montreal Canadiens on March 1, 2012.

The big, burly left winger should bring some grit and toughness to the Senators. Nicknamed “Kassasin”, Matt is more than capable of playing the role of enforcer and has become somewhat of a twitter sensation (@kassasination) where he began the hockey fan twitter craze called “shinlist”-which he says is a list of people”who need a hard kick in the shins”.
