Born in 1990, Jakob Silfverberg is a strong 2 way playing forward currently with the Ottawa Senators. He was drafted 39th overall by the Sens in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

He was signed, in 2011, to a 3 year contract with Ottawa, despite choosing to return to Sweden for the balance of the season.

During the 2012 playoffs, Silfverberg was called upon to help Ottawa during their series against the New York Rangers. Seeing limited icetime, Silfverberg managed only one shot on goal as the Senators lost to the Rangers and were subsequently eliminated from the playoffs the following game.
