Born April 14, 1988, Eric Gryba from Saskatoon, Sask. was selected by the Senators in the 3rd round (68th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. He was eventually signed to a 2 year entry-level contract on March 31, 2012.
Before joining the Ottawa Senators, Gryba spent four years at Boston University, winning a pair of Beanpot titles and an NCAA championship, before graduating with a business administration degree. Later he joined the Binghamton Senators where he completed 2 years of professional hockey and was the team’s leading scorer for defensemen with 5 goals and 15 assists.
After a season ending injury to Erik Karlsson, Gryba was called up to the Ottawa Senators on February 15 and made his NHL debut against the Toronto Maple Leafs on February 16, 2013.
