Weather woes ground Senators

Weather woes in New York City grounded the Ottawa Senators on Thursday. They had been scheduled to fly into the city in the afternoon, but rain and bad weather forced them to cancel their flight until Friday morning.

For Friday’s game against the Rangers, Brian Elliott will likely be in goal for the entire game, meaning Pascal Leclaire will play on Saturday at home against the Rangers.

Prominent prospects in Friday’s lineup include defenceman Jared Cowen, right wing Bobby Butler, defenceman Patrick Wiercioch, and Binghamton right wing Ryan Keller.

Otherwise, the lineup is comprised of NHL players: Elliott and Leclaire: Chris Phillips, Brian Lee, Chris Campoli, Sergei Gonchar, and Erik Karlsson on defence; and Milan Michalek, Daniel Alfredsson, Peter Regin, Jesse Winchester, Jason Spezza, Chris Kelly, Chris Neil, Ryan Shannon, and Jarkko Ruutu up front.

Shannon will be making his first appearance since getting checked headfirst into the boards by Toronto’s Jay Rosehill in Ottawa’s second pre-season game.
