Short leash for Lehner
Things aren’t going so well for Ottawa Senators goaltending prospect Robin Lehner with the Binghamton Senators of the AHL.
Lehner got the early hook after allowing two early first period goals in Wednesday’s 4-3 loss to the Adirondack Phantoms, prompting coach Kurt Kleinendorst to tell the Binghamton Press & Sun Bulletin that “somebody wasn’t ready to go.”
Lehner was replaced by Mike Brodeur, who played well until Binghamton blew a late 3-2 lead. Barry Brust, who has been Binghamton’s best goalie this season, is nursing a lower body injury.
Senators goaltending coach Rick Wamsley is in Binghamton, working with both Lehner and Brodeur.
