Practice update: Senators shuffle the deck

Ottawa Senators goalie Robin Lehner will be in net for the Nov. 1 game against the New York Islanders

The Ottawa Senators juggled their lines Thursday, sent struggling centre Jean-Gabriel Pageau to the minors, and will make a change in goal for Friday’s game against the New York Islanders.
Robin Lehner will be in net as the Senators try to break a three-game losing streak when they host the Islanders.
They could also sport different forward lines for that game, depending on whether coach Paul MacLean sticks with the lines he previewed in Thursday’s practice.
The presumptive top line had Jason Spezza between Chris Neil and Cory Conacher.
Zack Smith was between Mika Zibanejad and Milan Michalek, while Kyle Turris was between Bobby Ryan and Clarke MacArthur.
The fourth line had Derek Grant with Colin Greening and Erik Condra.
Pageau’s departure for Binghamton wasn’t much of a surprise. As he continued to struggle, it seemed to be just a matter of time.
General manager Bryan Murray says the team continues to have high hopes for Pageau, but that it is in his best interests to play a lot of minutes in Binghamton and regain his confidence, just as Mika Zibanejad did.
