The Ottawa Senators have signed defenceman Chris Wideman, who was originally drafted by the team in the fourth round (100th overall) of the 2009 NHL entry draft.

Wideman has just completed his fourth and final season with the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks, where he scored 12 goals, 83 assists and 191 penalty minutes in 163 career games — third most in team history.

Wideman scored four goals and 20 assists in 41 games this season.
