RALEIGH — The Ottawa Senators have recalled forward Mike Hoffman on an emergency basis from the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.
This will be Hoffman’s first recall of his National Hockey League career.
Hoffman, 22, has had seven goals, 10 assists and 20 penalty minutes in 32 games with Binghamton this season.
His seven goals match his total from his first professional season, when he had 25 points in 74 games.
In 106 career regular-season AHL games with Binghamton, he has had 14 goals, 28 assists and 36 penalty minutes.
Hoffman was Ottawa’s fifth-round selection (130th overall) in the 2009 draft.
The Senators play here tonight against the Carolina Hurricanes.
