While the Canadiens should theoretically be the favourite here, this is a weird time of year. Do they care enough about their current position in the standings to play hard, or are they content just to stay healthy at this point? I don’t know, so I’m just going to go with the better team.

I have no sense of this any more, but will take the visitors even if they have clinched. They may be inspired by their support in the building.

Get ready for the “Ole” chants to invade Scotiabank Place for the last time this season. Sens fans should be prepared to be verbally insulted inside their own building – being reminded that the Habs are not only going to the playoffs, but that they also have 24 Stanley Cup banners. In case you hadn’t heard.

Having clinched a playoff spot against the Blackhawks on Tuesday, I’ll wager that some of the air will be let out of Montreal’s tires for tonight’s game.

Considering that the tank seems to have been permanently disabled, there’s no real reason not to go with the Sens to win this one. MTL are a team that should be able to beat the Sens, so recent history says Ottawa will take it.

Honestly, my crystal ball has been so off recently, I don’t even know why I’m bothering trying to justify this. I’m just going to say that Montreal needs the two points a lot more than Ottawa, so they should win. What actually happens…well, we’ll see.

Never in my life has anything been harder than picking the winner of these games late in the season. I’ll go with Ottawa thinking that the Habs may take it easy after clinching a playoff berth. But don’t bet the house on it or anything.
