Philadelphia Flyers (46-22-11) at Ottawa Senators (30-39-10)

I would normally be wary of a game like this, what with the Flyers looking forward to the playoffs and the Senators looking forward to hitting the links. The Flyers still have something to play for in the regular season though. For that reason, I’ll take them here.

Not a big deal for either team, really, but the Flyers are chasing first in the east.

You could make an All-Star team with the list of players missing from this game: Alfredsson, Pronger, Gonchar, Briere and Karlsson. Don’t expect the Flyers to make the same mistake they did in this rink six weeks ago, when they took the Sens too lightly in a 4-1 loss.

Even though Philadelphia hasn’t played well of late (3-3-4), they have to get on a bit of a roll heading into the playoffs. Cue the Ottawa Senators…

My gut tells me the bubble may have burst a little on these here Cinderellas, I mean they couldn’t beat the freaking leafs????!!! I have to think the Flyers should be able to deal with them, especially if Tank Commander Kuba is still leading the attack. Dreadful does not do justice to his play. If ever there was a buyout was waiting to happen…

The tank is on. Time is running out almost as quickly as healthy bodies are, and the Senators are ready to let go. Flyers win, take over the lead in the Eastern Conference, and the Senators hope the Florida Panthers win some games.

These are some tough games for the Sens to finish out the season. The Flyers really need to get back on track before the playoffs and tonight is as good a night as any.
