Montreal Canadiens (3-2-1) at Ottawa Senators (2-4-1)

Well don’t I look like the fool? I was the only member of our panel to pick Ottawa to lose to the Sabres. Hopefully I won’t look foolish picking the Sens to continue that success at home against the Habs. They can take a ton of heat off themselves with another victory and I think they’ll take advantage.
Record: 3-4

Nice to think the Sens can get on a mini roll with their first two-game win streak of the year, but I’m thinking the Habs could be a handful.

Logic dictates the Sens will be tired after last night’s win in Buffalo, while the Habs were waiting in Ottawa for them. But as we’ve learned so many times in this young season, logic does not seem to apply to the Sens. Ottawa’s collapse at the Bell Centre one week ago should still be fresh in their minds.

Brian Gionta, Montreal’s captain, gets a lot of credit for being able to read a starting lineup in English and French. But does he have 1,000 points?
Record: 6-1

OMG!!! It took almost 100 games but I finally predicted a score right!!!! I ROCK!!!! Bite That Mendes! ![]()
Alfie and I went out to celebrate our milestones together and he told me to expect another win against the Habs. Who am I to argue with the Golden Gawd!
Record: 4-3

I could see a bit of an emotional letdown the night immediately following Daniel Alfredsson’s 1,000th career point, but I could also see the emotion carrying the Senators through a second straight game in as many nights (plus, as Ray Emery told us so memorably a few years ago, how much partying could the Sens possibly do in Buffalo?). The team showed their best in the first, some of their worst in the third, but should be fine against the Habs. Especially is Jason Spezza is back and ready to go.
Record: 4-3

Maybe Alfie’s 1000th point and their first road win of the season is the tonic the Senators needed. The home crowd will be jacked up for Alfie and might even manage to be louder than the large contingent of Habs loyalists. Look for the new energy in Buffalo to spill over to tonight and another win for Ottawa.
Record: 5-2

3-0 loss…
Any of you know if Mr. Murray had any zingers about this one?
It would only be appropriate if he had, as he’s turned this team from a first-rate, classy org into a joke.
Like father, like son I suppose.
Bring on the witty banter, it will help:
Our goaltending
Our discipline
Our defensive positioning
Our offense
Our passing
Our team speed
Our lack of forwards in the youth system.
Must be real nice being Mr. Murray, you don’t have to be successful as a GM to keep your job.
