Ottawa Senators (39-28-10) at Philadelphia Flyers (45-24-8)

James Gordon, Citizen Sports Editor

Senators 5, Flyers 2
I’m jettisoning ‘logic’ for the third straight game, since it got me out of a lengthy slump.
Record: 38-39
Exact scored predicted: 1

Wayne Scanlan, Citizen Hockey Columnist

Senators 5, Flyers 3
Now that Leafs have inflated Flyer egos, timing might be right to sneak one out here. Flyers have a date with a certain other Pennsylvania team the next day which just might cause them to take their eye off the ball on Saturday.
Record: 39-38
Exact scores predicted: 3

Ian Mendes, Sportnet.ca Senators reporter and blogger

Senators 3, Flyers 4 (OT)
My gut feeling on this one is the Flyers will prevail – but the Sens will get a point out of it.
Record: 45-31
Exact scores predicted: 2

Graeme Nichols, writer/editor, The Sixth Sens blog and podcast, defending prediction panel champion

Senators 3, Flyers 2
Sticking to my tradition of picking Ottawa to win both games in a weekend back-to-back match up, I’ll hope that the Sens continue to win games to preserve their point lead over Buffalo and Washington.
Record: 43-33
Exact scores predicted: 2

Steve Lloyd, host, Healthy Scratches on Team 1200

Senators 4, Flyers 2
We’ll see if Paul MacLean’s simulated gameday earlier this week helps with any rust from not having played since Monday’s win in the Peg. The Sens catch a break as Bryzgalov will miss this one with a fractured foot. The Pens did the Sens a favour with a win in Buffalo last night. Ottawa comes up big this afternoon, putting more heat on the Sabres as they play Toronto tonight.
Record: 42-34
Exact scores predicted: 1

Peter Raaymakers, writer/editor, Silver Seven Sens blog

Senators 2, Flyers 4
The Flyers are finally getting goaltending of the calibre they’d expected to start the season, but I’m not sure either Bobrovsky or Bryzgalov can keep it up. And with their defence fairly depleted, the speed of the Senators could be the difference in this game. With the Sabres and Capitals nipping at the Sens’ heels, Ottawa’s going to have to come out strong after their extended break.
Record: 42-34
Exact scores predicted: 3

Russell, host, SensUnderground podcast

Senators 4, Flyers 3
After going through a Sens-like slump, I am now chasing Mendes. Thus, I have to try and pick against him. Ian loves his stats and a recent one he posted showed Ottawa does not do well after a long lay-off. So, I’m hoping he picks the Flyers and I’ll take the Sens.
Record: 44-32
Exact scores predicted: 2

Jeremy Milks, writer/editor, Black Aces blog

Senators 2, Flyers 4
Not convinced the long layoff will be good for Ottawa here. It would also be unlike the Senators to go the drama-free way and just get the two points.
Record: 41-34
