Well, I guess if I’m going to have a shot at this thing, I have to make a move. I have no reason to believe the Senators will win this game, coming as it does against the red-hot Washington Capitals and on the tail end of a back-to-back, but Ottawa is surprising just about everyone at this point.

Even without Ovechkin, Caps are looking like a team on a mission. Why not try them here?

I really like the way Boudreau has the Caps playing lately. Washington has managed to do something unique: They are going to win their division, but nobody will pick them to win in the playoffs. With less external pressure, maybe – just maybe – this is finally Washington’s year.

Coming off an extra-time win over the Rangers last night, asking the Sens to win back-to-back games might be too tough a task.

Games on consecutive nights, and the second one coming up against a team with nine wins in ten games? Actually sounds a bit like a recipe for an upset to me. Still, I’m not going to predict a Senators win. Can’t justify it, aside from a tiny hunch.

The Caps have been off since Tuesday after a big win against the Flyers and it will be tough for the Senators to match their energy on the road. For the first time in years, this is a Caps team that looks ready for the playoffs.
