Toronto Maple Leafs (31-32-8) at Ottawa Senators (37-25-10)

Senators 5, Leafs 2
The only Toronto Maple Leafs likely to be really motivated for this one are the guys trying to make a name for themselves for next year. The rest know this season is a write-off. Or they should. The Northeast Division-leading (really?) Senators will be okay here.

I’ll take the home team but Leafs could surprise here.

I usually don’t like taking the Sens over the Habs in Ottawa, but I’ll go with the home team in this one. I thought the Sens seemed fairly flat on Wednesday at the Bell Centre.

I’m just hoping that this game is mercifully more entertaining than last night’s affair.

This is a back-to-back as the Leafs were in town watching last night. This is also that last game of three in four nights for the Sens. The Leafs are coming off a win and the one thing they can do is skate. They take advantage of a tired Sens team.

I’m wary of this game because Toronto desperately needs something to go right, but the way things are going I just can’t in my right mind pick the Leafs to win. Sens in a romp-ish display.

After finally breaking the jinx over the Habs, although not easily, The Sens should be feeling better about themselves. That ought to be enough to take out the Laffs. Just don’t count on the powerplay.

Jeremy Milks, writer/editor, Black Aces blog

Senators 3, Leafs 2
This will be another tough game for Ottawa but they have to break out of their scoring rut soon. Three goals and maybe one on the power-play are in the cards tonight.
