Ottawa Senators (25-34-9) at Buffalo Sabres (33-27-8)

Senators 1, Sabres 3
The Sabres blew a third period lead in a critical loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs Saturday night. That pulled the Buds to within four points of Buffalo, which currently holds the eighth and final playoff spot. Expect Lindy Ruff to have his group ready for a bounce-back against the Senators.
Record: 40-28
Exact scored predicted: 3

Senators 3, Sabres 2
This is one of those danger games for the Sabres. Sens are loose, on a roll and getting great goaltending. Where was all this months ago?!
Record: 39-29
Exact scores predicted: 5

It feels weird to say anything flattering that is related to Buffalo but they were the first team to really reveal a kink in Craig Anderson. Considering that they’re a team that has a lot to lose, I think that they won’t take Ottawa lightly and will be able to match the Senators exuberance.

Ok, your guess is as good as mine now. What have we learned, folks? That great goaltending and hard work can beat a more talented team. So, how exactly are you supposed to predict the outcome of a Sens game these days? Buffalo has been pretty hot of late, but you know the Sens want to sweep this road trip. Still, they are due to drop one so I’ll go with the Sabres but with no confidence, 2-1 of course.

I’ll take the Sabres in this one, but not convincingly. The Sens are playing better than I could have imagined, but the Sabres are bearing down on a playoff spot. These picks keep getting harder.
Record: 40-26
Exact scores predicted: 3
