Ottawa Senators (23-34-9) at Florida Panthers (27-31-9)

Senators 2, Panthers 1
The last time these two teams faced off, the Panthers still believed they had a shot at a playoff spot. That won’t be happening now, so will they start playing loose like the Senators? Who knows. I’m temped to take the surprisingly heavy favourite here, but I think Anderson will shut down his former team again.
Record: 39-27

NOW the hot hand belongs to Craig Anderson and the Senators. Should be able to handle Andy’s old Panthers team.
Record: 38-28
Exact scores predicted: 5

Senators 2, Panthers 3
The Senators have alternated wins and losses over the last seven games. And since I have lost my ability to predict anything with this team, I’ll just stick with the pattern continuing.
Record: 33-33
Exact scores predicted: 2

For the rest of the season, there should be caveat for every instance I pick the Senators to win. Assuming McElhinney doesn’t get the start, Craig Anderson’s history of success against the Panthers should continue.
Record: 40-25
Exact scores predicted: 4

Used to be it was easy to predict the outcome of a Sens game. I ran up a good record just picking “lose” every game but they are making it tougher now. If they can take out the devils, they should be able handle the kitty cats from FLA, no?
Record: 40-25
Exact scores predicted: 2

This might be Curtis McElhinney’s first game in a Senators uniform, but if it’s not, you’ve got to think Craig Anderson would love to get a victory over his old team. Plus the Panthers are tanking a little bit, so the Sens should win this game.
Record: 39-25
Exact scores predicted: 3

Surely Anderson gets the start against his old team, and surely he finds a way to win this one for the Senators. It’s not like Luongo coming back to town, but Anderson had some good years for the Panthers. It’s not easy to write “good years” and “Panthers” in the same sentence.
Record: 39-25
Exact scores predicted: 3
