Ottawa Senators (21-33-9) at Atlanta Thrashers (26-27-11)

James Gordon, SenatorsExtra.com editor/Citizen hockey writer

Senators 3, Thrashers 5
I’m making this call based on the fact I think Curtis McElhinney will get the start in the first of back-to-back games for the Senators (they play Friday at home against the Rangers).
Record: 38-25
Exact scored predicted: 2

Wayne Scanlan, Citizen columnist

Senators 1, Thrashers 2
When in doubt try the home teams. Thrashers in danger of completely falling out of the picture. Maybe McElhinney gets the start.
Record: 38-25
Exact scores predicted: 5

Ian Mendes, Sportnet.ca Senators reporter and blogger

Senators 2, Senators 3
Will the people of Atlanta realize that this is the return of Francis Lessard? Probably not. But the Thrashers are in desperation mode now after losing a critical game against Montreal on Tuesday. Ottawa’s last two games were against teams that did not need any motivation.
Record: 33-30
Exact scores predicted: 2

Graeme Nichols, writer/editor, The Sixth Sens blog and podcast

Senators 1, Thrashers 3
Although Ottawa has had some success playing against some of the top teams in the Eastern Conference of late, I wonder if this could be attributed to some of these teams taking Ottawa too lightly? That won’t be the case against the Thrashers, a team that is still fighting for a playoff spot.
Record: 39-23
Exact scores predicted: 4

Russell, host, SensUnderground podcast

Senators 3, Thrashers 2
Okay, for the sake of expediency, I can see the Sens knocking off Atlanta in a close one.
Record: 38-24
Exact scores predicted: 2

Peter Raaymakers, writer/editor, Silver Seven Sens blog

Senators 5, Thrashers 3
The Senators are surging, and the Thrashers are plummeting. To be honest, whether McElhinney or Anderson gets the start, I like Ottawa’s chances against Atlanta; they’re just a little too green, it seems, to be able to continue at the pace they started the season at.
Record: 37-24
Exact scores predicted: 3

Jeremy Milks, writer/editor, Black Aces blog

Senators 2, Thrashers 1
Nobody wants to play a team like the Senators right now. They beat the Flyers and outplayed the Bruins, playing like a team with nothing to lose. The Thrashers are desperate to make the playoffs and look like they are starting to crumble under expectations. The Sens have a chance to really hurt them tonight and I think they will.
Record: 37-24
Exact scores predicted: 3
