Here’s another potential trap game for the Senators, who are playing with a lot of confidence. It’s a fine line between that and overconfidence, however, and you have to think they’re due for a reality check soon. I think it’ll happen Saturday night in Montreal.

Every time the Habs are in crisis mode, they seem to draw the Sens. And without fail, Montreal seems to find a way to get two points against Ottawa. This screams of a trap game to me; Ottawa was terrific against the Rangers on Thursday, but may let their guard down against the inferior Habs squad.

According to a Montreal newspaper headline, the Habs are down ‘one loser.’ Maybe the paper was correct but isn’t it kind of sad that a Flames castaway is considered an upgrade?

I was all set to take the Habs in an upset, but the Sens have played poorly vs. Montreal this season and in speaking to Paul Maclean yesterday he went out of his way to point that out, he’ll do the same with his team.

Considering the chaos that is MTL, the seemingly unbeatable “re-building” Sens should take this easily. But don’t you just feel that after beating so many good teams, it will be some bottom feeder that trips Ottawa up? Me too…but I’m not brave enough to place that bet on this game.

With so much turmoil in Montreal, this game is a little unpredictable. The Habs could come out on fire or they could be dispirited, but they’ve already beaten the Sens twice this season. I can’t see them doing it three times in a row.
