Ottawa Senators (23-15-6) at New York Rangers (27-9-4)

James Gordon, SenatorsExtra.com editor/Citizen hockey writer

Senators 2, Rangers 4
The Senators are one of the hottest teams in the NHL, but the combination of Henrik Lundqvist and Madison Square Garden might be too much to overcome.
Record: 26-18

Wayne Scanlan, Citizen columnist

Senators 1, Rangers 3
Nobody else seems up to it these days, but maybe the world’s greatest goaltender can stop the mighty Sens?
Record: 30-14

Ian Mendes, Sportnet.ca Senators reporter and blogger

Senators 2, Rangers 1
The Sens have won four straight games at MSG, a streak that started with that infamous Mike Brodeur win here two years ago. While the Rangers are red-hot – so are the Senators. This game is a toss-up.

Senators 3, Rangers 2
According to CTV.ca, Brad Richards and Olivia Munn have split up. How can I possibly pick the Rangers to win this one now?
Record: 29-14
Exact scores predicted: 2

Steve Lloyd, host, Healthy Scratches on Team 1200

Senators 3, Rangers 4
Having gone 9-1 in their last 10, the league-leading Rangers are one of the few teams hotter than the Sens. I expect a close game, but looking past New York’s 13-3-2 home record is tough to do.

All good things must come to an end, and it’ll take a team like the New York Rangers to end Ottawa’s current streak of domination. New York’s on a five-game winning streak, and they’re well ahead of the pack in the NHL standings. Ottawa might have a chance if the Rangers give Henrik Lundqvist a break and play Martin Biron, but even their backup is a pretty solid goaltender. The Sens are in tough.

The Rangers, huh? I’m as amazed as the next guy at how fantastic the pesky Sens have played this year but as Dirty Harry used to say, “A man has to know his limitations.” The Sens are good but the Rangers are still just a little out of their league right now.
Record: 31-13
Exact scores predicted: 1

The party has to end sometime. And there’s no bigger party-pooper than John Tortorella. Stop the dancing. Turn off the music. Everybody out of the pool. Ottawa will have a better shot on Saturday in Montreal, a true party town with free points for the taking.
