Colorado Avalanche (2-1-0) at Ottawa Senators (1-2-0)

Senators 2, Avalanche 3
The Senators showed a lot of character in battling back from 2-0 and 3-1 deficits against the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday, but they aren’t going to win many games falling behind early. The Avalanche aren’t exactly known for stifling D — they like to score goals. If they get a couple early ones, I don’t see another comeback in the offing.
Record: 2-1

First win streak of the season? Could happen with the Avs in town, a win-able game, and a big one, oddly, considering where these teams figure in the big picture.  A loss here would undo all the touchy-feely goodwill from Tuesday’s win.
Record: 3-0

At 0-3 on the season, honestly — what the hell do I know?

Last season Bryan Murray did the Avs rebuild movement a favour by trading them Brian Elliott for Craig Anderson. Tonight, the Avs return that favour.

Colorado played last in CBJ as they continue their road trip. Backed by a motivated former Av in Craig Anderson, the Sens take advantage of a tired bunch.

Senators 2, Avalanche 0
Craig Anderson played his best hockey of the season in the third period and overtime against the Wild, and he’s up against his former team. Things seem to be going in the right direction, so I think he’ll duke it out with Semyon Varlamov until the Sens can finally get one past the Avs’ keeper.
Record: 3-0

Now that the boys have a win under their belts, I think we’ll see a little more much-needed confidence with the team. Andy looked better last night and I’d assume he’d want to have a strong again against his former club. The number of mistakes from the vets is still alarming but you’d like to think they’d get a hold on those sooner than later. Sens Club, PLEASE, PLEASE use the real Seven Nation Army and not that horrible electro-dance garbage version for the goal song!
Record: 2-1

Old Sens teams would fall flat after an emotional one like they had against the Wild, but this group of guys seem hungry enough. The Avs will be walking into a bees nest here tonight.
