Ottawa Senators at Nashville Predators

After two days of turkey and Christmas cheer, the Senators get right back at it against the best team in the NHL. Ouch. This game has blowout potential written all over it, but I think Ottawa will keep it close. Despite all the losses lately, they have been playing better, and the win over Nashville shows that they do have the ability to play solid defence when need be.

Sidney Crosby overdoses on Christmas turkey. ‘Geno’ Malkin laughs so hard he busts a gullet. Could happen. Or maybe Ottawa just plays an inspired home game. Would be nice for a change. But I’ll try the favourites here.

Seriously, if I picked Ottawa to win this game, I should just legally change my name to Spartacat.

With the season that Crosby is having, how can one pick against him and his lucky jock these days? (Thanks NHL 24/7.)

Shocked that I am about the win vs. the Preds, and the fact that Ian somehow predicted it (Could he be Santa?), it would truly be a miracle on 417 St. it they were able to pull off another upset against Sid and his elves. If Elliot has another good game, he may keep it close but I’m afraid, much like today’s turkey, there will be way too much Penguin to go around.

It’s been tough sledding but the Senators are due for a little good luck. Things can’t be gloomy all the time. This game is so tilted in the Penguins favour that an upset must be in the cards.
