Ottawa Senators (10-9-1) at Vancouver Canucks (9-9-1)

At some point, the Canucks are going to start playing like the Canucks and Roberto Luongo will start playing like Roberto Luongo. When it happens in anyone’s guess, but maybe it’ll start tonight against the Senators. Ottawa has already beaten the odds by going two-for-two on this trip. Can’t see the sweep happening in the Cup finalists’ home rink.

I keep waiting for the Senators to stumble, eating losses as I go. Easiest way to end the Sens winning run would be for me to pick them to win again, but…

The Canucks were embarrassed on home ice in their last game on Wednesday night. I expect them to look every bit like the defending President’s Trophy champs on Sunday.

Despite Ottawa going for its first Western Canada sweep, I’m sceptical that Ottawa can match Vancouver’s depth and skill. Maybe if Roberto Luongo was in nets, I’d give the Senators a bit more credit, but alas, it’s Cory Schneider who’ll get the start.

Ottawa has been impressive during this 3 game winning streak, but the Canucks are due to bust out with a good game aren’t they?

The Senators are bound to lose one of these days. I thought the panel were a bunch of homers when most predicted a win over Edmonton, and then the team proved I’m just too cynical. Well, I guess I still am cynical, because this team can’t possibly keep winning…can it?

I can’t even remember that last time I picked one wrong! But, this could be the one. Vancouver’s struggles have been well documented and with the Sens playing so well, there’s no real reason to pick against Ottawa. However, I’m going to anyways just because a western sweep seems so unlikely, and I’m following a gut feeling. Won’t surprise me one bit though if Ottawa pulls this one off too.

There aren’t too many opportunities to go in and steal a game from Vancouver, but tonight must be one of them. The Canucks are simply treading water right now and Ottawa’s coming in there like a street gang. I heard they sledgehammered holes into the side of their charter just to make it look meaner.
