Ottawa Senators (7-9-1) at Toronto Maple Leafs (10-5-1)

Senators 3, Leafs 4
The Senators can’t score and can’t stop the puck right now. Since those are two pretty important abilities when it comes to the game of hockey, I can’t see them snapping their five-game losing streak just yet.
Record: 12-5

The Leafs can probably figure to rebound from their latest calamity, and always play the Sens hard, but consistent goaltending is an issue for Toronto these days. Could be another shooting spree.

These teams met less than two weeks ago and everything was going well for them. The Sens were in the midst of an extended winning streak and the Leafs were cruising. But this weekend, both teams are trying to avoid plummeting into a free-fall.

Without James Reimer, Toronto’s goaltending situation has fallen into disrepair. Nevertheless, I’ve fallen into the habit of playing it safe and picking the Sens to lose those weekend back-to-back games.

It appears the Battle of Ontario is alive and well as these two teams seem to be  evenly matched. The Leafs goaltending is a concern but the find a way on home ice with the Sens having played the night before.

Ugh…I feel filthy with this prediction, but the Leafs return home after a few games on the road, and Ottawa’s on the second half of a back-to-back. Despite Toronto’s struggles in the past few games, I don’t like the Sens’ chances.
Record: 13-4

It’s a simple as this: The Laffs never, EVER get my vote. There just isn’t water hot enough to clean off that filth.

This rivalry is starting to get fun again, but it still feels like the Leafs have the emotional edge in these games. The Sens took the last one but I don’t think they’ll make it two in a row. Predicting a high-tempo, high-scoring affair.
