Ottawa Senators (4-6-4) at Columbus Blue Jackets (5-8-0)

The Blue Jackets have even more trouble than the Stars scoring goals, so that bodes well for the Senators and Robin Lehner. With the power play looking scary with Kyle Turris at the point and some good vibes finally permeating the club, this could be the long-awaited turnaround game.

Like Paul MacLean’s Sens, I “need victories, not moral victories.” Versus an Eastern Conference opponent in Columbus, I feel like the Sens are due to get back in the win column. Mind you, I’ve been saying this for the past four or five games.

I’ve done well picking against the Sens lately, but it’s time to change it up. I might be getting duped here, but a light seemed to go off midway through the Dallas game. Robin Lehner was the second-round pick the Sens received with Leclaire for Vermette. So they also got that goin’ for them….which is nice.

I have no idea what to expect with this one, but I take solace in the likelihood that none of my fellow panellists are any more certain of their prediction than I am.

For the first time there’s been a real improvement in Ottawa’s game, or at least a detectable spirit. I’ve picked Ottawa so many times in a row that I must be crazy, but the Jackets are struggling just as bad as the Senators. I can’t watch. Tell me when it’s over.

Former Senator Nick Foligno became infamous in Ottawa for his goaltender interference penalties, but something tells me he won’t be crashing into Robin Lehner at any point tonight. Sure Robin Lehner is scary, but I can’t imagine how scary Paul MacLean would be if you took out both of his goaltenders.
