Senators prediction panel: Game 13

Ottawa Senators (7-5-0) at Boston Bruins (3-7-0)

I fear I may have already missed the Senators’ winning wave, but I’ll try to ride it for a game. This has less to do with how well the Senators are playing than it does how poorly Boston is, but credit where it’s due: Ottawa’s winning streak has been a combination of consistent scoring, decent goaltending and a large serving of grit. This one is basically a coin flip for me.

I finally got a score right, the next challenge is to guess when the streak ends. Maybe here in Boston?

Ottawa is going to lose a game one of these days. And when they do, I’ll finally look like a genius.

Well, after trying to play it safe and picking against Ottawa in the last two games (I figured they’d split the games or potentially lose both), I’ll continue to pick against Ottawa until they actually lose a game.

Jesse Winchester is playing right? Sens are 6-0 with #18 in the line-up  Rabbit’s foot.

Can this winning streak keep going? My heart says yes, but my brain sees the Senators heading into Boston and going up against Tim Thomas, and I’ve got to go with my brain. There’s no way the Bruins are as bad as their record indicates, and a game like tonight’s against the Senators might be their slump-buster.

So, are the Sens really that good and are the Bruins really that bad? You have to think Boston will snap out of their post-Cup funk sooner or later and they still do have noted Sens killer Thomas. And I am a little worried about a let down after a big, emotional win vs their rivals, the Laffs. But, at this point, I’m playing with the house’s money so I’ll go with the hot hand. Let’s see how far this ride can go!

This is the toughest call of the season so far. It would be a huge moment for the Sens to beat the Cup champs but the Bruins have to draw the line at some point. They need to win this game more than Ottawa. I think they take a close one.
