Ottawa Senators (5-5-0) at New York Rangers (3-3-2)

James Gordon, SenatorsExtra.com editor/Citizen hockey writer

Senators 1, Rangers 5
The Senators are due for a hiccup at some point. I thought it would come against the Florida Panthers, but that didn’t happen. Perhaps a visit to New York to visit what should be an ornery Rangers team that lost an ugly one to Toronto the other night will slow Ottawa down.

This losing (mine) has to end. But will the Sens winning end any time soon? I will try the Rangers here.

Did you know that a koala bear isn’t actually a bear? It’s considered a marsupial. Why am I telling you this? Because I want readers to learn something new when they read my predictions. And I sure as hell can’t pick the games correctly.

Senators 1, Rangers 3
Unless Lundqvist doesn’t play, I don’t anticipate the Sens extending their four-game winning streak.

Am I being sucked into to riding the wave? Maybe, but the way this team is finding a way to win is intriguing. Oh, and Jason Spezza is the best centre in the NHL right now. Until he cools off, I’m riding that wave.

Peter Raaymakers, writer/editor, Silver Seven Sens blog

Senators 1, Rangers 4
Maybe it’s just my imagination, but I seem to think the Senators are terrible during afternoon games. In any event, I think they’ll be terrible in this one because they’ll be looking forward to the game Sunday night against the Leafs. Plus Richards, Gaborik, and Lundqvist = tough team to roll over.

Russell, host, SensUnderground podcast

Senators 3, Rangers 1
Judging by the last round of predictions, my mainstream media cohorts were mostly picking logically with their heads and not their hearts. We fans know where its at! Don’t think; nothing good ever comes from that. Just believe! Five straight for the Cardiac Kids!
Record: 7-3

Jeremy Milks, writer/editor, Black Aces blog

Senators 4, Rangers 3
It’s getting ugly early for the Rangers and the fans are letting them have it. Ottawa’s won at least one game in MSG every year since 95-96 and they’ll feel even more comfortable without Sean Avery in their faces. Obviously Torts doesn’t like sharing the spotlight.
