Anaheim Ducks (7-3-0) at Ottawa Senators (4-3-2)

The Senators are feeling super confident after a huge win over the Detroit Red Wings. The Anaheim Ducks are exhausted after playing last night and losing their second straight game against an Atlantic Division opponent. So why is there this big, red DANGER sign flashing in my brain? Either I’m having a stroke, or this one won’t be as easy as it looks.

This time it’s the Ducks weary from a tough roadie.

Last time these two teams met, the Ducks had a throwback night and beat the Sens. Ottawa will do the same by honouring Alexei Kaigorodov and Brandon Bochenski in an emotional pre-game ceremony to fire up the crowd.

Having played in Montreal the night before, a rested Sens squad should benefit from the Ducks having to play on back-to-back nights.

After being the only panellist to take the Sens against the Wings I’d like to go out on a high and announce my retirement……..but it’s a Sugar Ray Leonard retirement. I’m back to make a fall from a grace. A confident Sens team is catching a tired Ducks squad.

Ottawa’s monstrous win over Detroit came out of nowhere, but it seems like it could be a turning point for this skilled team after they’d been underachieving for a good part of the early season. Anaheim, on the other hand, are due for a few steps back.

The Ducks coming in on a back-to-back is the first real break to go Ottawa’s way with the schedule. They’ll take advantage of it. And this time they won’t have to feel intimidated by any eggplant coloured uniforms.

After a tough loss last night in Montreal, Anaheim comes into Ottawa as sitting ducks. With Zibanejad finally quacking the lineup, and the MacArthur-Turris-Ryan line taking to each other like ducks to water, I think the Ducks have a mighty challenge ahead of them. The Senators had their ducks in a row against Detroit on Wednesday, so I fully expect a fowl outcome for their opponents on Friday night.
