Senators need more offence from stars

Ottawa Senators coach Paul MacLean didn’t divulge much about his lineup for Wednesday night’s game against the New York Rangers, but he did acknowledge certain players need to step up their offensive production.

With the Senators trailing their first round series 2-1, they are desperate for a win.

Heading into Wednesday’s game, the tandem of Jason Spezza and Milan Michalek has combined for just two points. They have been paired on a line with both Jesse Winchester and Colin Greening throughout the series in an attempt to try and create some offence.

“I’m not satisfied with their result,” said MacLean.

Michalek believes if they continue their level of play, bounces will start coming their way.

“I don’t think you can change much,” said Michalek. “We worked on some things in practice yesterday. We are going to try and go to the net. We have to get pucks to the net and be harder. We have to be better and we know it.”
