The Ottawa Senators made major cuts to their training camp roster Wednesday morning, sending 16 player to AHL Binghamton.

The Ottawa Senators made major cuts to their training camp roster Wednesday morning, sending 16 player to AHL Binghamton.

Notables include defenceman Eric Gryba, who impressed many with his play despite falling below bigger names like Jared Cowen and Patrick Wiercioch on the depth chart, and goaltender Mike Brodeur.

Swiss winger Roman Wick — expected to challenge for an NHL spot coming into camp — will also head to the Binghamton Senators’ training camp in Corner Brook, N.L.

Others re-assigned Wednesday:

— Goaltender Barry Brust

— Defencemen Andre Benoit, Geoff Kinrade and Craig Schira

— Forwards Jason Bailey, Erik Condra, Corey Cowick, Kaspars Daugavins, David Dziurzynski, Colin Greening, Mike Hoffman, Jim O’ Brien and Tim Spencer

The Ottawa Senators’ training camp roster now stands at 32 players.
