Rest good but I would have rather been playing: Anderson

MONTREAL – Craig Anderson, not surprisingly, was happy to get back into action against the Montreal Canadiens on Friday night.
He agreed, albeit reluctantly, that having a four-week rest was beneficial, having appeared in 56 games before he sliced the baby finger on his right hand. Pro athletes rarely get a break like that.
But from Anderson’s body language as he talked to reporters on Friday morning, it was clear he was still chagrined about the accident and would have much rather been playing.
“Rest is definitely a positive spin to put on this incident,” he said.
“Playing a lot of games can kind of take a toll on a player, and rest is definitely needed.
“You take a look around the league at some of the better teams, and the better goaltenders have had their fair share of rest.
“A four-week break might not be the best situation, but you’ve definitely got to use it as a bonus to get rested and recharged for the last little push.”
