Practice ice in Chelsea better than MSG for Senators

NEW YORK – The Senators practised at the Chelsea Piers Sky Rink on Friday, part of a recreational complex on the west side of the city overlooking the Hudson River.
For the players, the bonus was that the ice there was better than at Madison Square Garden, where it is usually soft and bumpy.
The drawback at Chelsea Piers is that the sunlight streaming in was tough on the goalies.
“The ice was pretty good,” said Craig Anderson. “The puck wasn’t bouncing around as much.
“But the glare on the ice was tough and the guys were using it to their advantage.”
