Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Citizen sports editor James Gordon watched the original NHL Jets play their last game on his 15th birthday and returned 15 years later to chronicle one of the reincarnated franchise’s games against the Ottawa Senators. Prior to joining the Citizen’s sports section as a hockey writer and online editor during Senators’ 2007 Stanley Cup final run, he spent several years on Parliament Hill covering national security, terrorism and access to information issues. The Carleton University grad’s journalism career began with a summer job as a business reporter with Dow Jones Newswires in Toronto, but he soon returned to Ottawa to join the Citizen. Stupid pole. Otttawa sports writers nag Murray to acquire a goaltender. He does and they question it. Ok….

Lehner needs to grow more; having another backup who can match Anderson’s plays will be great – have faith; Auld needs to go – bad move to rehire but understood need; keep your eye on the prize, lets bring the cup home
