Neil close, Anderson in goal against Caps
Chris Neil wore a regular sweater in practice on Friday and could be close to a return, maybe even today against the Capitals.
He said he felt fine and the decision was up to coach Paul MacLean. MacLean hedged a bit, saying he wanted to be sure that Neil was 100 per cent healthy.
If Neil does return, MacLean will have to find a spot for him. Erik Condra has filled in for him admirably with Kaspars Daugavins and Zack Smith.
MacLean said it would give him “pause” to break up that line, but it also has to be remembered that Neil was doing a good job on that line, too, before he hurt his ankle.
Defenceman Filip Kuba didn’t practise on Friday making him doubtful for today’s game, so Brian Lee will be in again.
In goal will be Craig Anderson.
