In case you were wondering how the Mike Fisher trade is being received in Nashville, here’s what Tennessean columnist Dave Climer had to say:
“While making the NHL playoffs in four of the previous five seasons is noteworthy, these one-and-done postseason cameos are getting old. It’s high time for a deep playoff run. That’s where Fisher comes in. He supplies a needed dose of offense for a team that ranks 26th in the league in goals per game at 2.53.” Read the whole column here.
In a nutshell, Climer argues this is the right move at the right time for a Predators team that normally hoards draft picks rather than handing them out.
Senators fans know as well as anyone that few players work as hard as Fisher, so he should fit in quite nicely on a lunch bucket team that values effort.
