The Ottawa Senators won’t make any lineup changes for Thursday’s game against the Washington Capitals.

Craig Anderson will be in goal, while Andre Benoit, Peter Regin, Matt Kassian, and Jim O’Brien will be healthy scratches.

The game could be a preview of a first-round playoff series, with the Capitals holding third in the Eastern Conference and the Senators holding sixth.

But the Senators need to win to hold their position.

With 50 points, they’re just one ahead of the seventh-place New York Islanders, who are in Toronto to play the Maple Leafs, and four ahead of the eighth-place New York Rangers, who are in Florida to play the Panthers.

In ninth, also with 46 points, are the Winnipeg Jets, who will host the Carolina Hurricanes.

At the pre-game skate, Ottawa’s defence pairings looked like this

— Patrick Wiercioch — Sergei Gonchar

— Chris Phillips — Marc Methot

— Jared Cowen — Eric Gryba

The forward lines looked like this:

— Milan Michalek — Kyle Turris — Daniel Alfredsson

— Cory Conacher — Mika Zibanejad — Jakob Silfverberg

— Guillaume Latendresse — Zack Smith — Chris Neil

— Colin Greening — Jean-Gabriel Pageau — Erik Condra
