With Peter Regin out of the Ottawa Senators’ lineup against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Zenon Konopka will suit up for his 200th NHL game Saturday night.

Regin had tests done on his injured shoulder on Friday and the team is currently awaiting results. Head coach Paul MacLean said the team would provide an update either after Saturday’s game or on Monday.

Meanwhile, ailing defenceman Matt Carkner (knee) and winger Bobby Butler (groin) joined their teammates for the morning skate, even if they weren’t really supposed to be there.

“Drill wreckers,” MacLean joked during his morning availability. “They’re out there in practice today, wrecking all the drills.”

Injured players normally skate on their own, but the team didn’t have the practice ice for long due to a coaching clinic.

Carkner said he was feeling good, considering he had surgery less then three weeks ago, but wouldn’t provide a timeline for his return.

The longer he’s out, the less pressure there is on the Senators to make a decision on what to do with young blue liner David Rundblad.

While the team can save a year on 18-year-old rookie Swede Mika Zibanejad’s entry-level deal by sending him home before the 10-game mark, there’s no such provision for Rundblad, 21. For now, the Senators can take all the time they need to decide if he deserves to be here. It’s unclear whether Rundblad would accept a demotion to the AHL or return to Sweden instead.

Here’s how the Senators’ forwards lined up in the morning skate Saturday:

Milan Michalek — Jason Spezza — Colin Greening
Nick Foligno — Mika Zibanejad —Daniel Alfredsson
Erik Condra — Zack Smith — Chris Neil
Zenon Konopka— Stephane Da Costa — Jesse Winchester

No change on defence as Brian Lee sits again. Craig Anderson will start in goal
