Philadelphia — Jean-Gabriel Pageau will make his NHL debut on a line with Colin Greening and Erik Condra on Thursday as the Ottawa Senators aim to end their five-game losing streak against the Philadelphia Flyers.
Senators coach Paul MacLean is hoping that Pageau, recalled Wednesday from Binghamton of the AHL, can add “energy” to a lineup that needs a spark.
Interestingly, Pageau, from Gatineau, has a pair of role models in the form of Flyers stars Danny Brière and Claude Giroux. Brière, dealing with a concussion, won’t play Thursday.
Robin Lehner will start in goal for the Senators.
Ilya Bryzgalov, embroiled in controversy over whether he fell asleep in a team meeting earlier this week, is expected to play for the Flyers.
