Morning skate update: No lineup changes for the Senators

The Ottawa Senators will stick with the lineup that delivered a 4-1 win against the New York Rangers Thursday.

The Ottawa Senators will stick with a winning lineup when they face the Buffalo Sabres at Scotiabank Place Saturday night.

That means Ben Bishop will get the start and goal and Zenon Konopka, Bobby Butler and Matt Carkner will sit as healthy scratches.

The Senators are coming off a 4-1 victory over the New York Rangers Thursday.

The Sabres could prove to be a tough out. After a surprisingly slow start, they’ve won seven of their last 10 games to climb back into the playoff picture. They’re currently 10th, two points back of eighth-place Washington.

The Senators, who sit seventh, are well aware of their surroundings.

“We look both ways in the standings,” captain Daniel Alfredsson said. “You can’t get too comfortable if you’re doing well, and you can’t get too low if you’re not doing well.

“We’ve put ourselves in a good position, obviously, down the stretch. Ideally, we’d like to climb. We know it’s going to be tough, but at the same time we want to make sure the teams behind us stay behind us.”
