Morning skate update: MacLean keeping lineup options open

Ottawa Senators coach Paul MacLean hinted he could make some lineup changes for tonight’s seventh game against the New York Rangers.

NEW YORK — Ottawa Senators coach Paul MacLean hinted he could make some lineup changes for tonight’s seventh game against the New York Rangers.

Neither Zenon Konopka and Matt Carkner, thought to have minor lower-body injuries, participated in the morning skate, but MacLean said they are available to play.

However, MacLean went on to say that he was keeping all his lineup options open.

It does appear as if Jakob Silfverberg will stay in the lineup.

The only certainty is that Bobby Butler, Mark Stone, and Mark Borowiecki won’t be playing. They all stayed on the ice for extra skating after the main team left.

If the Senators win, they will likely start their next series on Saturday night. They could play the Florida Panthers or the Philadelphia Flyers in the next round.
