BUFFALO — Robin Lehner will start in goal and Cory Conacher will play his first game with the Senators Friday against the trade-depleted Buffalo Sabres.
While Craig Anderson is healthy enough to return and will back up Lehner Friday, coach Paul MacLean wants him to see a little more practice time.
Conacher, meanwhile, is anxious to make an impact in Senators colours. He’s a hero, of sorts, in these parts due to his success with Buffalo’s Canisius College.
Peter Regin returns to the lineup, centering a fourth line, with Jim O’Brien sitting out.
On defence, Mike Lundin replaces Andre Benoit.
The Sabres are dealing with life without Jason Pominville, Robyn Regehr and Jordan Leopold, all traded in the past week.
