Ottawa Senators defenceman Mark Methot participated in the morning skate prior to Thursday’s game against the Boston Bruins, but left the ice early.

Senators coach Paul MacLean said Methot, who injured his right knee in Tuesday night’s game against the New York Islanders, won’t be in the lineup.

“He’s not playing tonight,” said MacLean. “But he did progress and he’s probable for Saturday night.”

Mike Lundin, who has been out with a concussion since being hit by Philadelphia Flyers forward Harry Zolnierczyk March 2, is ready to step back into the lineup.

“It’s good to be back,” said Lundin. “It’s great to be at your peak performance both physically and mentally. It felt like a long time but it’s great to be back.”

Goalie Robin Lehner will be back between the pipes, hoping history doesn’t repeat itself.

Lehner has faced Boston twice this year already and has lost both games — one in overtime and the other in a shootout.

Lehner, who last played Sunday against the Winnipeg Jets, is 2-0-4 with a 1.90 goals against average and .946 save percentage.
