Michalek’s two goals against Caps signals end of slump

Milan Michalek’s two goals against the Capitals gave him a career-best total of 27.
He’s now had four in the last five games, a welcome sign for the Senators, who will be depending on his scoring touch down the stretch and into the playoffs.
But Michalek was worried while he was going 12 games without a goal, so to start scoring again has been a relief.
It is, a little bit,” he said.
It’s always tough. You think of it. It’s nice, but I just had to be patient and work hard. I just have to stay with it now and keep it going.
“It’s a long season. I struggled, but hopefully it’s back now.”
