MacLean stays mum about Boyle punching Karlsson
NEW YORK – Everyone knew the Rangers were going to target Erik Karlsson but eyes widened when 6-7 Brian Boyle went after him in the first period after the whistle had gone and punched him in the head four times. Karlsson said he was going to punch Boyle back but didn’t because he thought the Senators would be on a power play. Instead, both players were handed roughing penalties.
MacLean was asked Friday what he thought about that incident but stickhandled around it by saying “I don’t have an opinion on that.”
