Lee sits, waits

It’s a tough situation that Senators defenceman Brian Lee is in.

He sat for the 23rd straight game on Thursday night. It has to be crushing.

Even on a struggling team, he can’t get into the lineup, an indication that both general manager Bryan Murray and coach Cory Clouston have absolutely no faith in him.

Lee believes he can play in the NHL and wants to be given a chance, if not here then elsewhere.

But it doesn’t look as if that’s going to happen any time soon.

Murray has been talking but can’t find a buy.

“I keep trying but no one’s taking anyone on right now,” he said.

Keep Lee. Send him to Gary Roberts in the offseason to toughen up. He’s had a really good amateur career in Minnesota, and can skate as well as anyone on our defensive corps, plus he has a good positive attitude. We’re not going to get anything for him now, so send him down to Bingo for a good season.
