Leclaire skates, Kovalev will be back

Relatively speaking, Tuesday was a quiet day in Ottawa Senators land, as the excitement about a potential major shake-up has passed — for now, anyway.

Most of the Senators didn’t skate, either, as coach Cory Clouston opted to alter the routine by putting the players through an off-ice workout instead of a practice.

The only player who did skate was goaltender Pascal Leclaire, who took shots in full equipment. He could be back at practice Wednesday. Whether he practices with the team or not, he will travel with the club later in the day, in preparation for Friday’s game against the Blackhawks.

Clouston said Alex Kovalev, who missed Monday’s practice with an undisclosed injury, will be back on the ice Wednesday.
