Game sheet notables: Sens vs. Rangers

Here are a few things that jumped out of the game sheet Saturday:

Filip Kuba led all Senators with three points (all assists). Erik Karlsson, Jason Spezza and Milan Michalek each had two points.

— Karlsson played 29:45 in the game, which would normally be enough to lead all players. He was still well behind Rangers defenceman Dan Girardi (33:14) on this night, however.

— Michalek, Spezza and Karlsson combined for 15 of Ottawa’s 40 shots. Spezza’s willingness to shoot more has resulted in seven goals already this young season. I’ve always thought he could score 40 in a season if he tried.

Zenon Konopka and Jesse Winchester combined to go 7-1 on faceoffs, which somewhat offset Stephane Da Costa’s 2-9 run.
