Filatov could join Sens on Wednesday

Ottawa fans could soon get a look at Russian left wing Nikita Filatov, who was acquired on Saturday from the Columbus Blue Jackets for a third-round draft pick.
The abundantly talented Filatov could arrive on Wednesday for the team’s development camp.
was the No. 6 pick overall in 2008 but never delivered on his promise.
Almost two weeks ago, Filatov asked the Blue Jackets for a “change” and general manager Scott Howson made it happen.
If he decides to play the way many still believe he can, Bryan Murray will have scored the bargain of his tenure as general manager. If he doesn’t, he could become a distraction that could undermine a team trying to recover from a terrible season.
As of Tuesday, it wasn’t certain that Filatov would attend camp but the chances looked good. If he does attend, it will be as a full participant, which means fans will be able to see him during the on-ice sessions at the Bell Sensplex (daily at 1:30 p.m. except Monday, when the three-on-three tournament starts at 9:45, and during the five-on-five scrimmage Thursday at 7 p.m.)
